The locale

Set on Cemagi Beach on Bali’s west coast, Kiss Bali Beach Residence is a rare beachfront base where the soundtrack is rolling surf, not traffic. You’re 1.5 hours from Ngurah Rai International Airport, and that remove is exactly the point: Cemagi feels quieter and more local than Canggu, with a black-sand shoreline, rice-field lanes, and sunset strolls along the sea wall below the lawn. When you do want a change of pace, you’re well placed for day trips. Tanah Lot is close by, while Seseh, Pererenan and Canggu are an easy drive for cafés, spas, and nightlife. For an all-in-one hit of culture and design, Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan is a 20 minute drive away for galleries, installations, and events.

Things to do

Kiss Bali Beach Villa’s Manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.

In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.

  • Start with what’s right outside: sunset walks on Cemagi’s black-sand beach, where you’ll often spot locals strolling, fishing, or walking dogs as the sky turns copper and pink.
  • Make time for Seseh Tanah Lot, Bali’s iconic seaside temple, best done early in the morning for softer light and fewer crowds (and still close enough for an easy half-day outing).
  • For a deeper look at authentic Bali, explore the rice-field backroads by foot or bicycle, passing village temples, offerings, and farmers at work - an easy antidote to the island’s busier beach strips.
  • If you’re surf-inclined, Seseh and nearby reef breaks draw confident surfers. Expect stronger conditions than beginner beaches, with the reward of fewer line-ups than central Canggu.
  • When you want wellness and relaxation, book a massage or spa ritual (either in-villa or at Cloud Spa or Udara Bali nearby), then come back for a long, languid afternoon by the pool.
  • For lively contrast, head into Pererenan or Canggu for boutique shopping, café culture, sunset drinks at La Brisa or The Lawn, and late-night beach clubs.
  • For a modern Bali field trip, spend a day at Nuanu Creative City, a growing creative hub where nature, art, and design-led experiences meet, only a 20 minute drive from the villa.
  • And for a change from the villa’s delicious private-chef plates: go out to eat one evening. Nearby favourites like Riviera Café, Natari, or Seseh General Store cover everything from casual bites to relaxed date nights, leaving the villa for your bigger, celebratory feasts.
